When was the Antminer Z15 released?

The ASIC Z15 was released by Bitmain in 2020 as a continuation of Bitmain’s line of Equihash algorithm miners. It was preceded by three generations of Z9 mini / Z9 / Z11, which proved themselves well with their reliable assembly and chips.
The ASIC Z15 can mine up to 5 different coins: Zcash / Pirate / ZenCash / Hush / Komodo, which provides excellent opportunities and variability in profitability, since you can switch the ASIC to different coins depending on where the rate and mining are better. The ASIC is most interesting to home miners—the Z15 consumes only 1.55 kW, which is half as much as ASICs for Bitcoin!

At the same time, mining on it is often the same or higher than on the SHA-256 algorithm. Prior to the Z15 model, other companies, such as Innosilicon, released their response to Bitmain in the form of the A9 zmaster and others, but after the release of the ASIC at 440 ksol/s, the Z15 became the undisputed leader in terms of power on the market. The design of the Asic has not changed compared to previous models—it is a standard two-story case with two coolers on the intake and a control board on top. The power supply is external. The Antminer Z15 is considered one of the most compact and quietest machines on the market, with air cooling noise of no more than 65-70 dB. This figure can be reduced with additional water cooling, which will give us 50 dB, comparable to the noise of a regular PC. The ASIC Z15 can be safely recommended to those who have power outlet limitations of up to 2 kW and those who want to mine at home without disturbing their neighbors. The Z15 does not require frequent maintenance; you only need to monitor its temperature occasionally and reapply thermal paste once a year.
