How our ASIC miner repair service works
ASIC diagnostics. Any equipment that comes to our service center requires initial diagnostics. Even though breakdowns are typical, there may be nuances and hidden defects. First, our specialists conduct a visual inspection for burnouts or obvious damage.
This is followed by a more in-depth diagnosis of all components. The time required depends on the initial malfunction reported by our customer, ranging from 1 day to 7 working days on average.
Agreement on repair details and cost. After the diagnostic results are in, we will agree on a preliminary cost range.
Repair and restoration of the ASIC. After clarifying all the details and diagnostics, we begin a step-by-step repair of the ASIC, which includes testing all components and gradually restoring or replacing them.
The specific repair work that can be performed depends on the model and type of damage:
- Power supply repair (we support APW11, APW12, APW17, and other models with their codifications)
- Replacement of coolers (fans) and cables
- Replacement or repair of the control board
- EEPROM, NAND, and custom firmware updates
- Restoration of the ASIC’s factory firmware
- Replacement or repair of the hash board and its power circuits
- Reballing (re-soldering) of chips on the hash board
- Reapplication of thermal paste on ASIC chips
- Cleaning and maintenance to restore temperature control
Typical service for replacing components such as coolers, control boards, or power supplies takes between 15 minutes and 2 days. However, more complex repairs, such as repairing the hash board and restoring power tracks or replacing (reballing) the chip, take much longer. Of course, the complexity and timing largely depend on the model, but the main task is to find the faulty chip, which is not always a quick task and cannot be determined through the device’s admin panel. An individual approach to the hash board and testing the entire board is required.
For example, on average, the repair time for an ASIC Antminer ranges from 15 minutes to 21 days, depending on the complexity of the repair and the type of malfunction. Stress test before delivery. At our service center, each piece of equipment undergoes mandatory stress tests after ASIC miner repair, based on the results of which the technician will determine the stability of the entire ASIC system after repair before delivery to the customer.
Equipment transfer. After completing all stages of repair and testing, we prepare the equipment for delivery. The process is designed so that the customer always understands what stage their equipment is at.
