Bitcoin is among the top 3 popular systems in Italy used for online payments

SEMRush (Boston) stated that the cryptocurrency Bitcoin is currently ranked 3rd in popularity in Italy. It is used as a means of paying for online purchases. Based on the research results, it can be noted that the first cryptocurrency ranks 3rd among payment methods. Only PayPal (America) and PostePay (Italy) are ahead of Bitcoin. Moreover, Italian residents use Bitcoin a little more often for online payments than Mastercard, Visa, and American Express. Last year, the Italian online shopping market significantly exceeded 40 billion euros. In Italy, residents make 215.800 thousand purchases every month, paying for them with the cryptocurrency Bitcoin. By the way, American Express cards are used for 189 thousand purchases. It is noteworthy that Mastercard and Visa systems are practically not popular in this country – only 33.950 thousand. 1.3 million purchases are made through PayPal every month, and 1.2 million through PostePay.
