Alephium entered the market in 2021 as an experimental blockchain platform built around the concept of scalability. The developers based the network on the Blake3 algorithm and introduced a unique BlockFlow architecture with sharding technology. Block generation time is approximately 16 seconds, making it more than 37 times faster than Bitcoin.

The network uses a hybrid Proof of Less Work (PoLW) approach, which reduces energy consumption compared to traditional PoW systems. Network difficulty adjusts dynamically: when hashrate increases, the protocol automatically recalibrates parameters to maintain stable block times. As of 2026, the ecosystem continues to expand through smart contracts and decentralized applications, supporting growing miner participation.

Alephium Mining Features

The current network difficulty remains significantly lower than Bitcoin’s. Blake3 differs fundamentally from SHA-256 due to its unique hashing structure. The algorithm is built on a tree-based architecture that enables parallel data processing. This allows Alephium ASIC miners to achieve higher energy efficiency per unit of hashrate.

As the project gains adoption, mining competition continues to increase gradually, although the entry barrier remains lower than in most major Proof-of-Work networks.

Current ASIC Miner Models for Alephium

One of the most popular miners currently used is the Goldshell E-AL1M, a dedicated Blake3 ASIC miner. The device delivers up to 4.4 TH/s while consuming approximately 1,800W, resulting in an efficiency of around 409 J/TH.

Its noise level is approximately 45 dB, making the E-AL1M suitable for home mining environments. Unlike many Bitcoin miners that generate substantial noise, this ASIC can operate in residential settings with minimal discomfort.

The device offers both standard and power-saving operating modes for home mining. This flexibility allows users to adapt performance to different scenarios, ranging from small home setups to industrial-scale mining farms.

Bitmain’s Antminer AL1 also operates on the Blake3 algorithm and remains one of the highest-performance Alephium mining solutions, delivering up to 15.6 TH/s. During 2025–2026, updated AL1 variants with improved energy-efficiency characteristics also became available on the market.

Advantages of Alephium ASIC Mining

Blake3 requires specialized computations that conventional CPUs and GPUs perform less efficiently. ASIC devices provide performance-per-watt figures that are often dozens of times better than general-purpose hardware.

The energy efficiency of modern Blake3 miners remains one of the network’s key advantages. The Goldshell E-AL1M consumes approximately 409 J/TH, which remains competitive even compared to many modern Bitcoin mining devices.

The Alephium network is still less crowded with miners than Bitcoin or Ethereum Classic. Lower competition can provide more stable reward opportunities for ASIC owners, particularly during periods of low cryptocurrency market volatility.
